Understanding the Names of Allah (SWT)…

I am now the age at which our Prophet (PBUH) departed this world.

I have brought together some of the notes I have made over the years. These notes were glimmers reflected from the jewels I encountered along the way; they illuminated my path. I wanted to share them in the hope that they might also benefit others who have not yet noticed these glimmers.

The works we created and the good we sought to do, hoping for Allah’s (SWT) pleasure and through His grace, may not have been understood or appreciated by some people. I feel no disappointment because of this. We never expected anything in return from people.

These notes are important to me. Had İpek University not been closed, these principles would have formed the foundation of its values. I would have sought to build the shared values of individuals and societies upon these principles.

I would wish to read these notes to the powerful and the powerless, to those who are right and those who are wrong, to those who have been hurt and those who have caused hurt.

For the beautiful Names of Allah (SWT) are not merely to be known. They must touch the human heart, shape one’s character and outlook on life, and be reflected in one’s conduct and way of living.

I pray that these words will be read, understood and bring benefit to sincere hearts.
